HI All From A Brit In Germany

Hello fellow stamp collectors (including the ladies of course). I would like to introduce myself.

I have been collecting, on and off, for about 53 years since the age of 8 or 9. After the initial phase of hoarding every little perforated piece if paper I could lay my hands on, I concentrated on GB and Germany. I abandoned my GB collection sometime in the early '80s due to the high influx of new issues and rising face values. I had specialised in the Machins and was collecting cylinder blocks. By the time face values reached one pound I gave up. Collecting cylinder blocks required blocks of six (usually) and that times two (dot and no dot panes). I simply couldn't afford it any more.

I carried on with Germany, but I had to sell the collection about 10 years later due to financial reasons. The following, in no particular order, are the areas that I collect now:

Germania series 1900-1920 (mint, including postal stationery)
German Private Posts (classic & modern)
Latvia 1918-1940 (including revenues)
Czeslaw Slania
Central Lithuania
Disney

Quite a varied selection I think you'll agree. Inevitably, some areas suffer from neglection while I concentrate on others, and I often wonder if I have piled too much on my plate. Probably, but I can't bring myself to discontinue any of them. I love them all!

Although I have been collecting stamps for a long time and have accumulated much philatelic knowledge, I am still learning new things all the time. I hope to be able to impart some of that knowledge and learn much more in this forum.
