I can't post pictures on here, because I can't resize my images. I do have a question, where can I buy the black background stamp holders? I live in Houston, but I couldn't locate any on my own. I want to see my progress, by mounting in differently. Thanks in advance for your help.

You can use the free "image optimizer" when uploading directly here or you can use a 3rd party hosting site. I use flickr and it works great.

For a black background I just stick mine in approval cards and scan.

I've never had to buy one since many sellers use these for shipping stamps, I actually throw them out now since I've accumulated so many.

How do you use flicker without posting your name? I tried it, and it's easy to use, but I don't want to post my name, or other photos.

Not sure what you mean about posting without my name. After you upload an image into flickr just choose the image you want to post here, click on the share arrow, them select click the BBCode tab then copy and paste the link here and remove anything before and after the [img] tags.

If you are looking for a background to use for scanning your stamps, the approval cards that Stallzer recommends are great for that. If you are looking for a way to put your stamps into an album enclosed in something with a black background, you would be asking about stamp mounts. These are available from many online sources; I highly recommend the source that Stallzer gave you (ihobb.com) above for the mounts as well as the approval cards. They are professional, priced competitively, and have fast shipping.

Sam Houston Philatelic is probably the largest stamp business in the Houston area- I bet they have some or all of the supplies you need.

You copied the wrong link. When you choose an image in flickr you want to post you will see a curved arrow for "Share this image", you then need to click on the BBCode tab and copy that link and paste it here.
Once you've done that in the link you will see 2 sets of [img] tags, the start and the end. You need to delete everything before the first [img] tag and everything after the last [img] tag.

If only this were as simple as it sounds. I can easily copy and paste, but I can't figure the next step out?

OK so I again tried to use the free image optimizer, I crop and save, but I can't find/save or use the resized image? My old computer would save them in downloads, but these I cannot find?

The second "img" tag in that sentence should have a backslash in front of it (/img). If it doesn't then you are not on an end tag. (I replaced the brackets with parentheses to avoid having the tags activated.) That will not get you where you want to go.

Getting close, now all you need to do is after you copy the string / link to the flickr image you need to remove all before and after the IMG tags. Your end result of what your string will look like is this.

(I've inserted a space between the letters M/G so it will show correctly

[im g]xxxxblahblahblah[/im g]
