Hi all,

I found this stamp in a lot that I recently bought. Can't find it in the Michel standard catalogue, the German forum can't help either.
It was suggested that the clue could be the word just above the "1925", so I asked a Spanish colleague at work (no stamp collector). He wouldn't know what it could be, but he obviously doesn't know the technical terms common in stamp collecting.

Anyone around here who can help? If needed I can provide the original 600 dpi scan via e-mail.

Klaus

Hi Klaus,

I believe it's a revenue stamp from the same 1925 set as these two:

I guess this one would originally have had a talon attached at the bottom and the full overprint would have been "MEXICO D.F." (Mexico Federal District).

Hi Nigel,

you are most likely correct, but my colleague and I have smelled blood and need to know what this word on that stamp is. Sleepness nights and such.

Rodolfo Torres is my source of expertise on Mexican stamps. He usually has Mexican stamps for sale on SCF.

Hi,

two stacks of books, glass plate on top, light from underneath: it's FEDERAL indeed.
