This is a very interesting oddity.
This Canada Scott 1906 "Royal Military College" stamp seems to have the colour coper/bronze missing from the 47 cent numeral.
Bottom stamp is brown numerals.
We know the copper/bronze colour is made up
reddish brown to produce copper/bronze.
It is very hard to reproduce what I see holding the actual stamp with a magnifying glass in front of me, but here goes nothing.
Top stamp is the one with the copper/bronze missing.

Here is a little better close up (as good as a USB microscope can produce}.
