The Chinese Teahouse, a garden pavilion in the park of Sanssouci in Potsdam is a marvel of decorations in gold. Fredrick the Great had it built by Gottfried Büring in the early 1760s. The golden Chinaman with his umbrella on top of the building doesn't show up well on the stamp, but he must be admired! DDR stamp of 1983

The "Lady with a Parasol" also represented Barcelona for the 50th anniversary of the city's trade fair in 1970. The logo in the lower left corner may have to do with another representative of Barcelona: its soccer team. The new trade fair building has completely different architecture.

An illustrated Khamsa of Nizami manuscript dating from the 16th century is featured on the stamp of the Maldives, 2016. It looks like a royal procession. The umbrella is being held over the rider on the dappled horse.
