I'm not sure if these are revenue stamps or legitimate postage stamps as I have been unable to identify them using a Scott catalogue. Could anyone help me with this? Let me know if you need to see the reverse side or anything else. Thanks!

Revenues. "Federal Tax" type, printed and perforated to give 2 parts, the bottom part "The heel" (Talon) remained as a receipt.

There are a couple catalogues of these...Mexico had a lot of revenues, across many issues.
So, they're collected. Unfortunately, I don't have a catalogue. 5p is a fairly high value, so it may have some value? Just guessing, based on relative values in the (very old) Forbin catalogue. |

The Overprint is from: Capital, Tuxtla Gutierrez - (Chiapas).
Normally the catalogues are too standarized; I think that the values varies for District, example: Overprinted in Mexico is too common, but Tuxtla Gutierrez is some scarce. I don´t know if exist some Specialized Catalogue for Districts

Thanks Rodolfo, that answers our questions. The Mexican Revenue Catalogue is the big missing catalogue for most of us.

Thank you Rod, Rodolfo and Cjd for your help! I really appreciate it. Now I just need to see if I can track down a Mexico Revenue catalogue. I'll let you know if I have any luck. |
