Astonishing item, but anything from a pair, a block, and on up to an entire sheet of stamps has always made me a little uncomfortable because of the likelihood of perf separations. And as soon as you start to get perf separations, soon you no longer have a pair, a block, or a sheet. My own fairly trivial example is a collection of used Canadian blocks of four I began with great enthusiasm. The problem was that without very careful handling, plus mounting the blocks immediately in stamp mounts, they didn't always stay together for long. Whoever shells out $700K or more for this Columbian sheet better handle it with great care and put it safely away somewhere . . . or they're going to end up with blocks, not a sheet. That's not the only reason I wouldn't bid on this item, I have to admit. There's also the small problem that I couldn't possibly afford it in a million years. Quite a startling item, isn't it? |

Whoever buys it is probably going to break out the 10-15 stamps the auction firm is stating are XF to Superb. A shame but likely. |

Lets hope it stays intact. I haven't looked closely at it, but I almost hope that all of the stamps are off-center. That might reduce the temptation to separate it. |

The bottom third of the sheet is already basically completely separated. It was discovered that way...not sure why they're not disclosing that?!? |

I'll go a step farther...after all the ing/moaning about various ebay sellers. This one is on SAN - and that picture & description is criminal. The picture is well designed not to show the fact that the sheet is separated, but the fact that the description calls it 'complete' & in 'original, pristine' state is downright fraud... |

From the Linn's article: Quote: Finally, she took it to Mohrmann, who told her it would probably fetch more than €10,000 at auction. I guess that estimate was a tad bit on the low side. |

So it's really not a full pane. It's a block of 30 and 70 per description |

It was just auctioned off a few months ago. I don't know why it is back up so soon after. |
