I'm not sure which group of forums to ask this question. If I'm wrong, please moderator to move the topic.

There is a forum of philatelists who collect the stamps (marks) as in the pictures below.
I have a collection of various stamps (marks). Some are with postal stamps and some individual.
I wonder if this belongs to the philatelist and whether it has any worth?
I might have sold this collection in the future.
Does anyone have any experience?

Very tasty morsels.

What you have here, amongst others are.............

Postmarks.
Slogan Postmarks.
Pictormarks
Air mail Etiquettes
Marginal markings
Meter Impressions

Valuable in a "desire" sense. to those whom collect these, and they do,
but not valuable in a monetary sense..sorry.

I have seen Australian "cut squares" from envelope sell for $20 a page
(about $2 each)
Postmarks (The rare ones can sell for $300 upwards) but you need a lifetime of study to recognise these.

Good Luck.

I'd recommend checking out the Post Mark Collectors Club: www.postmarks.org/

They have some great resources and a regular bulletin that they put out.

Welcome to the hobby and this group. Nice collection of interesting material.

PLEASE consider saving the whole envelope in your collection. There are at least six only known postmarks from short time Indiana post offices that the only know example has been turned into a small cut square. When you remove a postmark (and stamp(s)) from an envelope you destroy most of the contemporary documentation behind the history of the item.

Suggestion: Scan the item isolating its postmark then print it out in album format along with notes as to the item it came from and other info you can gather about it from both books and the web. That way in future times their whole story is documented and can be appreciated.

Best regards, Russ Ryle

Hi @rod222
Thanks for reply and information.
I still thought this was worth something. :(
No matter, that's a good collection. I'll still try to sell.

Hi @51studebaker
Wow! a very interesting website. This is similar to what I have in my collection. This must go to the my bookmark.

BTW: I have 40 pages of albums in my collection (two albums). Images in the first post are just part of the collection.

Thanks.
Unfortunately, I can not do anything here. I've bought: postmarks, postage stamps, Air mail Etiquettes, and the rest, whatever they are.
Your suggestion I can not fully understand. I have to find someone who will translate from English to my mother tongue.
Do you have a case example of your suggestion?
Best regards

Bypassing the fact that you're actively promoting a sales (which you cannot) and that these are not cinderellas at all (please, have a look at the other threads) and taking into account that English is not your mother tonge (it's neither mine!); so, you've a limited command of it. It seems that you don't want to understand that your "collection" has (being polite) a very limited market value.
As it has been already stated, slogan postmark and pictorial postmark collectors (as me) look for complete covers, not cut-squares. I won't pay a cent for a cut-square of a postmark without the stamp. In my honest view, you'll be very lucky if someone offers you 10 € (12 $)for what we've seen. I won't be that one!

Off course you can keep on dreaming that you've got a valuable collection... Dreaming goes for free!

the Croatian commemorative cancels are nice, but can be found on full cards for €1-2. but there are hundreds of them, making it difficult to build a real collection.

the 2 full postcards would probably not be of interest to stamp collectors. the marks are not cancels. these are proof marks at the base camps up a mountain, for the climbers to verify how far up they made it.

Johnc, foto number 4, row number 5, first to the left:
a cover canceled 'Rijeka 12.10.1991' followed by 'Jugoslavja' !!!

That one has sprung in my sight, mainly because Croatia (of which Rijeka is part) was fighting a fierce and brutal independence war. In my mind, it shouldn't have been marked with the second cancellation - the 'Jugoslavija' one.
Based on this alone, I believe you have some work to do in order to clarify such aspects if you are happy to do it

In photo numbers six and seven, you have loads of commemorative cancellations for various scientists (mostly from Yugoslavia) and anniversary cancellations for various institutions, like museums, Esperanto club, sportive associations etc.

Please follow this link for Croat contacts (hopefully some of them are still trading):

... and just ignore any harsh comments made by some of those more knowledgeable than you - some experts on this forum seem to have forgotten that a while ago they were as ignorant in Philately as any beginner of nowadays
