The northern coast of Germany at the Baltic Sea is a vast wetland area known as the Bodden. The water isn't quite as salty as the ocean and the numerous islands are fringed with reed grasses. It is a national park since 1990 and has a surface area of about 800,000 square kilometers. Rare plants and animals have come back, notably grey cranes by the countless thousands.

Hi Kuol, For a long time I have been wondering where to show off the many stamps to this topic, so I shall certainly enjoy it! K.

The second stamp featuring the Bodden was issued in 2015, 25 years after the establishment of the park. (The souvenir sheet above was issued in 1996, at that time D-Mark, € didn't turn up till 2000.)

Northeastern Germany is remarkably flat, a lowland region with countless lakes carved by ice-age glaciers. It is called the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte (as flat as a platter). This stamp is part of a large set showing geographical areas by the artist Heinz Schillinger.
