Bacalar Lagoon is a long, narrow freshwater lake near the Mexico-Belize border. The lake is fed by underground rivers and is renowned for its striking blue color and water clarity. The lake also contains a large population of stromatolites, one of the oldest life on Earth that only exist in a few locations globally.

Ulcinj Salt Pond is located behind the coast of Adriatic Sea at the southern tip of Montenegro. Sea salt was produced from the lagoon between 1935 and 2013. Today the salt pond area is an important ornithological site, with large population of many bird species.

Lake Neusiedl (Neusiedler See)
This lake bordering on Austria and Hungary is very shallow with
average depth aprox 3' and max depth 6'
The lake has dried up completely according to historical data and sometimes
in the past was considered more or less just a swamp.
