Hello There - Welcome to SCF!

Here are images of three stamps (one of which is airmail) depicting seabirds, designed and engraved by French artist Claude Andréotto (1949- ), and issued for use in French Southern and Antarctic Territories on January 1, 1986, Scott Nos. 118, 119 & C91.

Here is an image of an engraved airmail stamp depicting several species of herons (great white, great blue, and Wurdermann's), and issued by Cuba on August 29, 1956, Scott No. C143.

New Zealand Kaka and Fantail from 1965 set of 2. PM 4th Aug 1965 Palmerston North.

1965 Health FDC

Image is also of the Kaka - a large, olive-brown parrot with grey-white crown and bright, red-orange under-wing and deep crimson belly and under-tail coverts.

The Mikado pheasant is endemic to mountainous regions of Taiwan. The species occupies dense shrubs, bamboo growth and grassy terrain with conifer overstory in central and southern Taiwan, from 2000 to 3200 meters above sea level.

Blue-and-yellow macaw, aka tjamba rafroe (Ara ararauna), printed by lithography and surcharged (over Scott No. 730), and issued by Surinam on December 28, 1993, Scott No. 964, plus a photo.

Bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus), designed by French artist Odette Baillais, engraved by Czeslaw Slania, and issued by Monaco on October 20, 1992 to publicize Mercantour National Park, located in southeastern France, Scott No. 1830, plus a photo.
