The small European Robin Erithacus rubecula is often seen on Christmas stamps (See earlier posts of 4/28 and 29/2011 here). Robin redbreast is an important figure in numerous legends and stories about Christ.   |

The Eurasian Bullfinch Pyrrhula pyrrhula is also a Christmas bird in many countries. The bright red front of the male is larger than that of the robin and can be seen from afar.   |
