Found this lot on ebay today. The bid is currently $76 on a stamp that catalogs for $1.00.

So am I missing something or do we just have 2 bidders with itchy fingers?

It's putatively mint and not used; catalog value is for used.

It's still not worth anything close to where it is, even as a mint stamp. But some people really like mint first issues.

Short perf, multiple toned spot, oy. I would expect about $5, perhaps $10 to someone collecting mint OG 1st issues (which are not exactly common), but $76? Egads.

I may start having to ask moon money for OG 1st issues...
