I have a Turkey 1881-82 20pa "gray" stamp that appears to be more like brown / light brown. I was hoping you could have a look and judge for yourself. On stamp world they show it as "yellowish gray". I personally see no gray at all - save for the cancel.

I think Souldjer's example is a nice one. Mine are even paler. Perhaps an indication of poor quality purchases. Perhaps they fade in sunlight? or subject to leaching under soaking.
