Phil_Atelic,
Just a word of advice, find either good sellers or start using an agent to make your purchases. You are making significant investments here and buying from unknown
ebay sellers is just nuts. Buying from good sellers like ClarkF, Dan, Eric Jackson, etc will allow you to buy without the fear of being ripped off.
You will rarely find 'bargains' with a good seller, they know what they have and what it is worth. Fishing for stamp bargains from unknown sellers on
ebay is a sure way to get ripped off. I think one of the greatest sins we make in this community is touting an
ebay bargain. Of course there are a few stamp/cover bargains found every day on
ebay; but the vast majority are not.
ebay is fine if a person is buying 'bulk' inexpensive stamps at low risk. But this is not you, you are making significant investments in single stamps. Given the sellers you have mentioned, including the ones who you have said were 'good', I fear that bad buying decisions will eventually cause you to become disillusioned with the hobby.
