Anyone have any thoughts on this grill? It doesn't look like a standard grill but it also doesn't look fake. Very unusual. Points are down and run vertically.

Wouldn't you expect to see a gap, a spacing change, and angle change or something, if it was a multiple grill? The points seem to be in perfectly straight and even lines across. I suppose your suggestion is the most likely, but I'm still suspicious.
Edit: After thinking about it, I guess it's the only real possibility. I've stared at it too long. Calling it a double grill and moving on. Thanks. |

thanks for showing this very interesting stamp, interesting grill and cancel also. would be good to see a photo with oblique light oft the grill, perhaps. I would also expect seeing a double grill more separate or overlaying which is not the case here. |

Looks too symmetrical for multiple grills to me, but I'm more often wrong than right. |

Here is as good as I could get with oblique light. I hadn't noticed the cancel focusing on the grill. It is interesting. A negative 6 leaf clover. |

I meant the stamp on the desk and then oblique light, but the photo directly from over the stamp. when I look a bit longer at your first scan, I think I see the overlaying in the middle 5 or 6 vertical rows.
for me (not an expert) the B grill should be more obvious, and the C grill has sometimes some more grill points, but more weak than in your example, so if it was my stamp I would now indeed assume a double grill, but a very nice stamp which not many collections show. |

It's points down, so B and C are ruled out. It is certainly unusual. I was going to pass it by thinking it a not-very-nice 94. Glad I checked. |

Very unusual item. You've also got a small amount of the next stamp on the right edge. Although may not be worth it, I'd consider sending that one to the PF to get a cert... |
