The 2 mil m surcharge on a 100,000 m stamp is a common Danzig airmail stamp (Scott #C24), but I have not seen this before with a 60 mil m surcharge on the selvage. Anyone seen this before?

Isn't this just the sum of the stamps' value in the sheet as a help for the user?

I agree. The 60 millionen is not a surcharge but the total of all the stamps in that row of the sheet. This helps the clerk in accounting,

Peter

As stated above, the printing on the selvedge is to help the clerk in counting. Here's what the full sheet looks like.

Thanks everybody! That's a new one on me having not seen a full sheet before, thanks Postmaster. Was thinking it might have been some kind of "misplaced" surcharge, but never seeing the 60 mil surcharge before, I was confused

Thanks for clearing it up.
