I have just finished sorting my large queens and have found many interesting stamps. I have checked Flyspecker.com and re-entries.com. Some are shown on these great sites. All of these stamps have faults/damage ranging from minor to downright ugly. But will hopefully be of interest to the variety hunters like myself. Some have been shown here on other posts. Positive comments are welcomed, lets keep it civilised. I am too old, and have too many stamps, to learn the ins and outs and technical details of all the different papers and printing processes. I just know what I see. If you find that offensive, then please dont join in the conversation. I will make no apology for not having, or wanting your level of knowledge. Hopefully you will share your expertise, but if not thats up to you. Catalogue numbers are by 2016 Unitrade. All are perf 12-66 unless mentioned. I have used a Kiusalas guage. All numbered flaws and varieties are taken from A large queens report by Hans Reiche. #21 with a mark in D of canada and O and above of postage. #21a Perf 11˝ x12-68x66. Flaw #2 Dot in E of cents Pos 16. I can also see a break in C of canada and T of postage.

petert4522. Thanks.
Yes probably. I mentioned and showed them here, as they are listed as a variety, in A large queens report by Hans Reiche as stated in the beginning of this post. |

Your 3 cents with the double line at the bottom right looks different then mine who has some doubling in the letters as well. |

jogil. No laid paper, or any watermarks are visible to me.
Coriandre. Very nice. Your stamp looks different to any of mine. The doubling in the letters of your stamp looks quite clear.

I have shown this on another post. Obviously they were not happy with me doing that, as I got no comments. So I will not be doing that again. It was mentioned that a slipped print is known. Opinions were divided. There is a similar stamp listed on ebay for $7000 with a VGG cert as a slipped print. The picture is too poor for comparison, but does look similar. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/36174200...4&rmvSB=true This is not shown on re-entries.com or flyspecker.com. I cannot see mention of it in Reiche. 27 Plate 1. Perf 12-66. Doubling of the right side, including the top scroll, the small lines to the left of scroll, central oval and frame line, and line to right of numeral. Frame lines at left are weak. It also has a vertical mark in the R6, from ball to below. Could this be flaw #7; vertical line in the right numeral ?. |
