Appreciate again that the Turkey experts help me understand why one of these Scott# 256, Michel# 231 stamps ood 1914 is not in catalogues at least these 2 cited.Thanks

Look at 1920 scott 590. Designs of 1913 modified.

Such is life when you get a new sultan!

If you look at the 'tughra' - in the circle on the left side/middle of the stamp:

The one on the top has the sultan's 'mark' - at app 2 o'clock in the circle. On the one on the bottom, you'll see it has disappeared...

The one on top was issued in Jan 1914. The one on the bottom wasn't issued until early 1920 - more than 7 years later...

The biggest difference is obviously the color!

On my monitor, those turkeys are the same colors. I see no differences?!

There's a whole separate thread on turkeys....obviously a major interest among our members! I'll stop thinking of Turkeys as a waste of time - clearly an overlooked collecting area!?!
