Does anyone happen to have the latest ACSC for King George V? I'm wondering if 139B is priced on cover. (It's not in my older edition).

Thanks.

I have the latest. Are you referring to the 1930 Sturt in Carmine-Lake. If so, it is only priced on cover if it has a punctured O.S. this cover is catalogued at $500, and if it is with a manuscript overprint "2d Paid/PM/LHI" it is catalogued at $1250.

Thanks Rob041256! It seems nothing has changed, then. I'm never quite sure why some things are unpriced. I wrote once to the makers of the Michel catalogue and they told me that it means that they have no record of the item ever being sold at auction. Perhaps that's the case here as well.

When you say cover, do you mean a First Day Cover or just on an envelope?

After researching a little about Sturt FDCs I couldn't find anything to say they exist, they may, but none have been recorded, which means that if they do exist, there wouldn't be many.

The stamp itself is the scarcer type of the 1½d Sturt, and if a FDC or any of these stamps tied to a cover exist it would be expensive.

In the current ACSC, 139B is worth MUH $50; MLH $30; Used $30 and no stamp on cover recorded.

139A does have a value on cover $20. This is a relatively cheap stamp, in MUH $4; MLH $2; Used $2 and on cover $30.

I would assume that the 139B on cover would be around the $100 - $150 mark if any existed.

Hi Rob,

Could you please advise if there is a price quoted for CTO for the punctured OS Sturt pair?

The 1½d Sturt with CTO is priced at $10 not on cover, there is no mention of any priced on cover. The 3d is the same but priced at $4.

Thanks for the comment, Rob041256!

139B definitely exists on cover - mine has a horizontal pair:

I'm currently unsure whether to auction it or come up with a Buy It Now price.

Australian material doesn't seem to have been selling well on ebay lately, so I'm thinking of erring on the side of caution.

You should contact Jeff Kellow who is involved with the ACSC catalogue so it can be added to the catalogue.
