I am tentatively excited about these stamps. The first two seem pretty straightforward: #96 and #109 most likely. The color of my scanner is not so accurate, but it doesn't seem super-important in those cases.

The third stamp is either #59, #60 (A26) or #62, #63, #86. The background seems to be lined, which makes it one of the last three possibilities. The color is critical. My scanner gives it a more reddish look than it really is...but to me it appears to be buff...definitely not gray...making it #63.

I would appreciate any and all opinions and suggestions. Thanks.

Your 3rd stamp is from the 1872-73 issue. If you look above the lower corner letters you will see its plate 11. So your stamp can only be Scott 59. Shade is difficult from a scan, but probably chestnut, or in scott brown. Watermark is spray of rose. And its a wing margin.

your 1st stamp appears to be white paper. If its on blued paper, the SG cat value is x10

From the scan the third stamp is most likely SG122 deep chestnut or Scott 59a deep brown.

Gibbons lists a chestnut, deep chestnut, pale chestnut and pale buff. Scott lists a brown, deep brown and a pale buff.

The pale chestnut and pale buff are the hardest to pick apart. Generally speaking, the pale buff will have a hint of orange in the colour.

I believe I have both of these stamps but the kicker is that when I scan them the hex value is the same but in natural light with well rested eyes (I can't overstate how important this is) it's clear they're different shades.

To complicate matters further, back in the day the pale chestnut shade was considered VERY rare and had to be a plate 12 stamp. I've no idea when the plate 11 stamp was included in the Gibbons listings.

My personal belief is they're the hardest GB stamp to find with the colour accurately described and if you're collecting these do it in person. Scans and computer monitors only make it harder.
