Good day to all, This is my first post in this forum. I was recently sent these pics from a relative's collection. The blocks are marked inverted in pencil on top. Any idea of their worth? Many Thanks Huz *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

The value is quite significant, if the Inverted notation is true and actually means inverted watermark. Assuming watermark Multiple Crown CA, my older Stanley Gibbons has the following values for EACH stamp:
10R: SG 318 at 70.00 Mint If Inverted, SG 318aw 180 Mint
5R: SG 317 at 19.00 Mint If inverted, SG 317bw 85.00 Mint
Even if not inverted, very nice pieces. Thanks for posting. |

I have a 2013 Gibbons, and the values are higher for the inverted watermark.
SG 317 5R is priced at £19 (or more depending on the paper color) and at £95 with the watermark inverted.
SG 318 10R is priced at £70 and at £225 with the watermark inverted.
The two pieces you have shown would best be sold at auction from one of the higher end auction companies. If they are in good condition they should sell for a considerable sum. |

Thank you for your kind replies. The 10r block (Die I) is in top condition but unfortunately the back of the 5r sheet has considerable amount of foxing. Nevertheless haven't seen bigger blocks inverted! |

Very nice blocks ,very unusual items .
The question about value is a different story . The question who wants them is a more complicated issue .
Those stamps in my opinion need first to be expertized and a cert issued after they are broken down into singles and blocks of four {maybe a block of 6 with the margin markings } before being placed up for sale.
When you see a catalog value of $200.00 for a rare item like this expect to get about 1/10 of catalog after certification and brokerage fees . These stamps could take years to sell if your demanding a certain price also . |

Canadian, I cannot contact you directly. I'm here if you have any queries. I have attached an images confirming the inverted watermark (Edited with Photoshop colour levels) |

Very nice stamps as stated earlier and a popular country . Advice from a major expert in British Colonies is needed . My guess is these sheets will need to be broken down and sold in smaller units over a extended time with Cert's ,Does the original owner want to do this or maybe a auction house ?
I see the value in breaking these down to smaller unit ,there is no premium in sell them as part of a large sheet ,then your selling wholesale to a dealer . |
