Hi there,

Would any member here be able to point me to any reference material or website that shows Brazil's postal services and rates from the 1960s to 1990s?

A google search yielded nothing, and when I emailed the Brazilian postal service for help, they (surprisingly) told me they did not keep such data.

My son just got me a hoard of Brazilian covers from this period and I am thinking of using the covers to study Brazil's inflation during this period.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

The Wikipedia entry for Brazilian postage references this book or monograph: Encyclopaedic catalogue of the stamps and postal history of Brazil: from the origins to 1890. 1999 by Peter Mayer. The title suggests it might have what you are looking for. A search didn't turn it up for sale.

I'll be at an event at the Spellman Museum (https://www.spellmanmuseum.org/) this Sunday. I doubt they would have it in their library but I'll find out.

Dennis
