from your stamp, I see a definite line in the P and S of postage, but I can't see other marks mentioned in Ralph's site (like the line at the bottom of 9 and below the 7 in 1897). There have been a few new re-entries found in the Jubilee series, so certainly worth checking our inventories...

Also agree that this doesn't match #1. The 97 seems to be the defining feature. You may also want to change the title of this thread to indicate the 1/2c version. Keep looking.

Also seems to have the dot in the "R" in VRI ?
