New Brunswick Tennessee is in the south west corner of the state. No year on the cancel. Is that a folded letter? There must be a year inside if there are contents.

The distance from New Brunswick to Claverack NY is about 1100 miles (by todays routes). Postage appears to be 25¢ (the script is difficult to read). That was the rate for over 400 miles between 1816 and 1845. But also the rate from about 1792 (450 miles) to 1815 when the War of 1812 caused a 50% increase.
So, looks like the rate may not be a help in narrowing the date down.

Follow-up. Looks like someone penciled a year under the 2 in the CDS, then erased it. Possibly 1820? They also wrote and erased something to the right of the 2.

I did consider that Bobby, it does look like a 28, but there was no 28¢ rate in my info. And some of these fancy schmancy scripts can be deceiving. I've got a couple that have kept me guessing for some time!

Possibly John. That would put the year at 1826 or later (rate changed to 18.75 as of March 3, 1825)

Definitely looks like TN at the bottom of the circle to me. I've never seen a state upside-down like that..

Here is your postmark. The illustration is from "The Postal Markings of New Jersey Stampless Covers" by William Coles, Jr. The book is a publication of The Collectors Club of Chicago and is available as a free PDF on their website.

I apologize for the duplicate posting. I checked before posting, but previous post arrived before mine.
