Hi Larmyca, and welcome to the forum. Your stamp is a 1971 definitive. I believe there are 8 stamps in the set. I do not have a Scott number for you,

Peter

The 2001 edition of Gibbons British Commonwealth catalogue doesn't show this stamp but there is this quote. "on 1st February 1972 the Agency placed on sale a further issue in the flag, map and Sheikh Mujibur designs in new and new currency(100 paisas = 1 taka). This issue proved to be unacceptable to the Bangladesh authorities who declared them to be invalid for postal purposes, no supplies being sold within Bangladesh. the value comprises 1,2,3,5,7,10,15,20,25,40,50,75p.,1,2,and 5t."
The only 2 other 3 paisa values are described and don't match. I suspect the stamp is one that was never issued for postal use. SG in 2001 quoted a price of £1 for the set of 15. I don't collect Bangladeshi stamps so I'm only quoting what I have found in the catalog.

Hi Noocassel,

Yes, this is the 3p stamp from the rejected set that you mention.

I also have a 1p stamp with the same "Flag of Independence" design.

Hi Nigel,
if I recall correctly, the 1p stamp can also be genuine, (as with others)
You need to check the colours for the unaccepted designs.

According to the Catalogue. 1 rupee Flag of independence with perforations is a legitimate stamp. If it is imperf it is part of the undelivered stock sold in the liquidation sale of Format international security printers ltd.

Snap! Same as mine Rod.

These have the country name as Bangladesh while the 1 rupee in the original set, Re.1, has the country name as Bangla Desh and the colours of the text at the top are red and green.
