revenuecollector,

I will agree to pay any reasonable charges for shipping so that point is well agreed on by myself.

I should have not used a "term" too often associated with US politician (1) and apologize for that.

Was only attempting to understand what the "shipping to Canada may not be......." term on some items meant.

Thanks for your response - René

These days I rarely offer things for sale abroad (I'm UK-based). But I'm mostly selling stuff that weighs 100g or more, like lots of album pages and entire albums, so postage abroad is expensive.

Even then I find I get customers from abroad buying the stuff, although I didn't offer a foreign postage option. not sure how ebay allows this.

Even if you state the high postage charges, customers still seem to think they are high, and they also moan about how long the stuff takes to arrive, plus more of it goes missing, so I find its easier just to sell to the UK. ebay takes a lot of time even when people aren't bombarding you with silly questions and complaints.

jimjamtwo. Keep us informed of your progress on this, as the thread is drifting into a Usa vs Canada debate.

Lets call a spade a spade. It has nothing to do with Canada, the US, or overseas.

1. the UPU no longer allows goods of any kind to be sent letter mail, it has to go as a parcel. That rule is still being broken.

2. All postage from most countries is increasing drastically

3. If you want something, pay the cost to deliver, or don't buy it. Witching after the fact will not help any one.

4. I am in Canada and many Americans complain about our postage costs because the US postage is a lot cheaper withing the US.

5. Many Europeans will no longer sell anything without tracking and it either goes registered or by courier.

6. Everyone wants tracking to protect them selves and cost is no problem.

Postage costs will continue to increase, people will continue to complain, and it is always the seller's choice where they want to sell to, especially when you have to take into account scammers, poor mail service and costs to have anything returned, especially on ebay.
