New Member From Mississippi

Hello everyone. New to stamps. I recently discovered a BIG box of stamps while cleaning some storage at our house. They belonged to my wife's great aunt whol collected them. They are all pretty much from around early 1900-maybe 1968. There are lots of loose ones and a lot on postcards and envelopes. There are also stamps from all over the world. My question is where in the world do I start with these thousands of stamps. What to put them in, how to organize, how to determine value and such. Thanks for any help you can give me.

There are two aspects: collecting individual stamps and collecting postal history. Postal history is about stamps on envelopes.

I have a lot of both!

You can pick out some of the older material and post 10-12 images. Folks here will then be better able to give you their opinions on how to proceed.

Welcome to the group.
There are articles out there about what to do if you inherit a stamp collection. Easy to find if you google a little. And browse around in this group.
How you go about it really depends on you and what you want to do with all that material - and how much time you want to spend.
If there is a stamp club in your area, that would be a good place to start too.
Glad to have another person in Mississippi in the group. I'm in a small town between Jackson and Meridian!
