Thanks mate in reality I brought the precancels as a hole and didn't realize that the Jefferson collection was a separate identity,
WOW what a bonus when I received it .
I couldn't wait to show it off

regards

There's just one stamp missing from this collection and that's a precancel Monticello Jefferson 841 from Utah to fill this spot,

I've found the Utah Monticello on a Jefferson 841 in section III and as explained at the start of section IV this is a rare stamp and couldn't be in two places at once so if you see a Utah Jefferson Monticello 841 in your travels please let me know.

Thanks for your interest.

Harry

Those are beautiful! Precancels are really lacking in my collection. This may be an odd question, but what kind of pages are those? Are there specific precancel pages for specific albums? I don't have any reference books anymore (long story) but are there different Scott numbers for the precancels vs. the same stamp that isn't a precancel?

G'Day Popcultureportal and to the forum.
The pages are all hand designed for this collection and as you can see all of the Scott numbers have been replaced with the PSS (precancel stamp society)Towns and Type catalogue numbers or by the PSS Bureau Precancel numbers, the numbers are say for a Scott #805 and a Jefferson Massachusetts precancel would be #729 and this is the number for the style of precancel used on that stamp.
If you look at the Jefferson City Missouri three stamps you will see a Scott #804 #805 and a #558 but all have the same style #207 precancel on them so that why there are three different stamps with the same number.
hope this explains why there are different numbers
and not a problem if you need more help

That is one very nice collection! Wow, it's staggering to think of the amount of time and effort this man went to to build it! Great find...

Yes Allen I believe he spent over 14 years on it,I also believe it was a very very slow process and yes it was an unexpected and welcome find Allen.
