Sorry for the confusion folks....the first US image is indeed from a 1973 Harris album, the second US image is from the Scott album. The first picture, the pages are nice and white, the second picture, the pages are turning brown.
Thank you everyone for your insight. I had no idea that many stamps were produced and also that many survived all the world has been through since then.
