I too collect USA stamps (and W/W Airmails). Are you planning to collect a basic set of 1 each of the Great Americans? Or a more indepth collection with some of the different varieties (perf and tagging, shiny/dull gum, etc)
The same with the Transortation coils - singles, pairs, Plate number strips, tagging differences, etc.?
Dave, you hit it right on the head! That is exactly what I want to collect. Seems very interesting and in depth. I don't have any albums at all, but I do have a pretty complete set of the great Americans series. Missing a few though and don't have hardly anything in the transportation series. I guess once I do 50 posts I can post want adds and buy as well.
I am not much for writing so 50posts could be a long while. I know that on some boards you can pay a fee or become a contributing member and have full privileges.
I do get it though so I guess I will have to start posting!
Any info you care to share on the subject, I am all ears. I am still looking I the forum on where I can start posting about the above stuff.
Since you are interested in the Transportation coil series I suggest you check out PNC3.org if you havent already. They have lots of info on coil stamps including the Transportation series. Also there is a document written by Stephen Esrati called "The Great Americans" It has a lot of info about the series.
