On March 11, 1974 the USA issued this 10c stamp (Sc #1525) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding (Sept. 29, 1899) of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.). The V.F.W. is the country's oldest and largest war veterans service organization.  |

Here is the USA's April 25, 1945 5c stamp (Sc #928) commemorating the San Francisco Conference of the United Nations. The conference of delegates from 50 countries took place between April 25 and June 26 to develop the UN Charter and the International Court of Justice.  |

This July 28, 1970, 20 (pf) stamp (Mi #1599) of the DDR is from a set of 3 values commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Potsdam Conference and Agreements. The values were issued as a horizontally se-tenant strip of 3, in a sheet of 2 x 5 strips.  |

On March 7, 2013 the USA issued a "Modern Art in the USA" sheet of 12 different designs (forever/1st class domestic rate) featuring works by American artists. This stamp (Sc #4748) from the sheet shows Charles Demuth's (1883-1935) painting I saw the Figure 5 in Gold (1928, The Metropolitan Museum of Art).  |

Here is the 70 (centimes) value (Sc #735) from Switzerland's February 17, 1983 set of four "Publicity" stamps. The stamp commemorates the centenary of an organized professional association for Swiss journalists.  |
