Here an example of the Senegal unoficial ovpt. on cover. It is written in front, that content of the cover are mint and used stamps, so I guess it was philatelic. |

Wow, thanks all, this really helps. It's unfortunate that the fiscal issues do not appear in the French fiscals catalogue that I have. This only leaves the 5 on 25 as an unkown. And I discovered a New Caledonia 1c while the series starts according the catalogues with 5c, so probably this is a bogus cancel. |

The Caledonia ovpt is not official. The 5 on 25 is a tough cookie.. It may be a forged "5".(don't think so) Trying too make some sense of the cancel..(Indochina) It could be a Tax ovpt. Indochina. The only "5" that looks like this.(Tax ovpt."5") https://www.philateliefree.fr//colo...0&listMode=1 |

I can identify ELON at the end, there might be a C or G before it. Date seems to be 88 |

The 2 different "5"'s The first your stamp;the second; the tax "5". It could be an early usage of this "5". |

It actually looks like a double overprint of 'your' 5. Maybe the tax overprint was used as a fiscal overprint as well. Why do you think the cancel is Indochina? |
