Since I have a number of Scott and Minkus country albums, I'll throw in my 2c, but not a formal evaluation.
Scott * Usually Scott numbers in the spaces.
* Paper in older albums (compared to Minkus) seems better.
* A more leisurely layout.
* BOB is in back after "regular" issues. (An advantage or disadvantage depending on one's point of view.)
Caveat: Some of the color descriptions (and catalogue numbers) do not agree with the current catalogue because most (all?) of the country specialty albums have not been updated in a long time.
*Limited new availability of Country Specialty albums. (Will need to find used albums for many countries.)
Minkus * BOB is integrated within the "regular" section. (An advantage or disadvantage depending on one's point of view.)
*Obviously, the spaces are based on Minkus numbers. (The Minkus catalogue is deader than a door nail.) But actually not as big of a problem as one would think. Almost always, I can figure out the Scott number for a Minkus space without difficulty.
* I find sometimes I can obtain a used Minkus Country album easier than I can find a corresponding Scott country album. (Of course, all of the Minkus country albums are used, as Amos Advantage isn't making available new Minkus country albums.)
* The Minkus Country pages are the same size as the WW Minkus Global Supreme pages. So for a WW collector, one could integrate Minkus Country pages into the Global if one wishes easily.
Overall, I find the Scott country and the Minkus country albums to have about the same coverage.
By doing some reading and searching today, I have noticed that supplements for Minkus are more expensive than for Scott and also much more difficult to find the ones needed as the majority have to be found on the 2nd hand market.
I have some of each, and prefer the Scott country albums. Primarily for aesthetic reasons - the page layouts are far more attractive (even though I don't like the "BOB" approach of Scott in general). Minkus pages definitely seem too crowded.
But I'd take a Lighthouse country album any day over either of them :)
I have - expensive! But I don't collect new issues. I was looking at Palo pages recently as I'd like to consolidate more on one brand, but that's a very expensive endeavour as well.
