Hi everyone,

I have a NSW stamp that has 3 dealer/expert marks on the reverse that I have not been able to identify.

I have had a good look at the pages at https://www.filatelia.fi/experts/index.html but haven't had any luck.

Do any of these marks look familiar to any of our members? Any help would be appreciated

I have seen/have stamps with the "asterisk" mark, have never identified who made it.

Thanks stampcrow. The stamp I have is from the mid 1850s. Are yours from a similar time?

I dawned on me that these marks could also be collector's markings which would make tracking them down even more difficult.

Yes, 1850s
I'd have to flip over a lot of stamps to verify.
If in the normal course of my activities I see one again I'll post it here.

I seem to remember an article many-many years ago about a dealer(s) being caught using fake expert marks. Can't remember where I read it.

Some of the experts have had their markings forged too. Makes it hard doesn't it?
