Not just our regular scammers trying to separate collectors from their money.

We have a seller here with wildly misleading titles. I sent a message explaining these, and his reply was that 'an expert' told him that they were worth what he was asking. (!??!!) This was after he told me he needed the money to buy more stamps!

One for the US Revenue crowd:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Washi...AOSwUmtbGoXw

{NOT rouletted - clearly perforated!}

And a Turkey in Asia classic:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Ottom...AOSwO9RbFXAI

{A much lower value 1920 version, which has a completely different overprint than the extremely scarce 1921 version}

Reported both to ebay...

ebay is a great stamp market but you must be very careful. I have seen examples of scammers asking exorbitant prices for minimal value stamps. One seller has been trying to sell a 4 stamp set for $60 for two years. They are worth about $10. I guess he hopes a sucker will stumble across them and bite. Buyer beware!

mdroth,
Thanks for sharing this.
It was good that you contacted the seller. I would have been nice if he would have listened to you.
