US 1847 Benjamin Franklin 5c S.c. #1 - Color?

Good Morning,

I was hoping someone here could identify the color on this stamp - I was going to say brown until I scanned it. Looks red brown to me now... best guess is fine - no clue as to what the cancel could be - thanks!

The color of the 5c 1847's is sensitive to atmospheric pollutants much like the 3c 1851-61 stamps.

This stamp appears to be a slightly darkened example of a red brown stamp.

I think probably the most common blue CDS on the 5c 1847 is Baltimore.

I agree with everything sinclair said, and add that Philadelphia also has a commonly found CDS in that blue shade.
