"State of New Jersey". The perfin was used on non-precancel stamps from 1926-76; and on precancels from 1938-89. |

Thanks dkabg8, I didn't know they had perfins existed so late. Is there a list of perfins from the early 1980 to mid 1980s?
I have another perfin which is the number 26 inside a circle. Its on a 1940s 3 cent defense stamp. Do you know who that one is?
Thanks again |

After going back and rereading the catalog, I think I passed you fake news. The date ranges I gave are the "stamp issue period of the stamps in which the perfin has been found. The EKU and LKU for the non-precancel are 2/17/1935 and 10/25/1939, respectively. For the precancel, they are 1/5/1940 and 3/10/1987, respectively.

Catalog of United States Perfins (2018). Recently purchased it (in pdf and xls formats) from The Perfins Club (www.perfins.org). |

My library has no copies and it's not even available (any editions of the book) through the international library loan system. :(
There's no way I can afford a copy. Hopefully I will run into someone with an old copy they wouldn't mind passing along to me.
Thanks again for your help |

It is a very niche publication, so I doubt that any library other than a philatelic one would have it. And as it was published this past spring, it may be awhile before there are any "old copies" out there. |
