I am contemplating sticking my toe into the forgery infested water of Berlin overprints.

I want to buy only BPP expertized stamps. Most of them I have encountered have a Schlegel expert mark. It comes in 3 types: (1) Schlegel BPP, (2) Schlegel A BPP and (3) Schlegel D BPP.

A quick look at expert marks https://www.filatelia.fi/experts/namess.html seems to indicate that (1) and (2) are forgeries.

My questions for you experts are: Am I reading the website correctly? Is (3) legitimate?

I may just hold off and find some with paper certs from BPP

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Dan

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

Hi Dan

They are three different people

First one past away. Two others are registered at BPP since beginning of the 90's.

And yes, picture marked (forged) are forgeries.

Don't trust old expert marks. These have also been forged. Get stamps with a faily recent BBP certificate.
