I am never surprised by what I see for sale on some auction sites, but this one really got me. The stamps shown have a $78 catalog value according to the seller, but the opening bid is over $1,500.

Are they just trying to impress us?

For what it's worth, I can supply it at a much more favorable price. LOL

Good catch. Hopefully a typo. $15.60 would be more appropriate.

The page linked to shows one bid on this lot. Then when clicking on that info it says no bids.

I didn't take time to pull up the sellers feedback, but I have to suspect something funny is going on here. IOW, I doubt this is a listing from an ignorant seller; I'd guess maybe a cover for illegal activity.

The seller has had no high value listings other than this one, I think it is a typo.

I went ahead and contacted the seller to let them know.

Their reply:

Thanks for letting me know. Somehow, the decimal point was moved. I have corrected it. Thanks again!

So, no conspiracy, just bad vision and poor typing skills.

Now that's a bit harsh to describe a person who either made a simple typo or had something slip betwixt typing and publication. So much for supporting a seller who immediately corrected the mistake and expressed his/her gratitude for someone constructively pointing it out. Welcome to the community of stamp collectors.
