Lots of stuff out there.
Google Crusades on stamps.

Lovely set of Chess pieces from Senegal, highlighting points from the crusades.

The Order of the Swordmen (in his coat of arms was the cross of the Knights Templar) in 1236 merged in with the Teutonic Order. In 1242 they suffered a major defeat on the ice of the Peipsi Lake from the Novgorodians. On the foreground is a shield with a cross of the Order of the Templars

The Russian Emperor Paul 1 in 1798 became the Grand Master of the Order of Malta (SMOM). The presentation of the Order was opened in St. Petersburg.

The Order of St. John of Jerusalem with the image of the Maltese cross was establishedIn Russia.

Apologies,
I generally dislike Acronyms as well, but the regime for Googling I thought would bring up lots for you.

TIP. Left mouse click and drag highlight SMOM, then right click and select "search Google for SMOM"

Do this for any word / phrase on this forum for instant info.

Lachplesis is the national hero of the Latvian people.

He got his name from bearish ears (Lachplesis - Bear's ear). The epic about Lachplesis was literally processed in 1888 by Andrew Pumpur.

The main character dies in a duel with a German crusader. This symbolizes the heroic, but unsuccessful struggle of the Latvian people with the crusading orders.

We can display many images of knights in beautiful armor, but the history of the Templars began like this:
the Old Testament Abraham decided to sacrifice his son, but fortunately this cruel event did not take place.

After many years their descendant, King David decided to build on this place the Temple

This serious construction was completed only by his son, King Solomon.

Apparently, he seriously approached the supply of building materials

so in Jerusalem appeared the First Temple

The Middle East was always a difficult region and The First Temple was destroyed. A thousand years later, a talented leader, King Herod did much to decorate Israel.

But to strengthen his power, he committed a terrible crime - massacre of the innocent.

Therefore, the construction of the majestic Second Temple was not appreciated by his contemporaries.

The introduction of Mary into this Temple became a Christian holiday
