Just realized that although I've been posting for a few months, never introduced myself. So here goes...
From rural SW Ontario, Canada
inherited late last year the family collection - multiple Big Blues up to 1959, an IPSA Junior world, collection strong up to 1949 (75% complete), good Canada/NF collection (some of which was my childhood album), mixed US albums, and a large and extremely unorganized Germany & related accumulation, along with a very nice, almost complete Berlin album. Along with much world unsorted, some old US covers, a few mint sheets, etc...
That brought me back to collecting after 35 years or so. So far I'm been working the Canada/provs collection mostly - consolidating in a Lighthouse album, upgrading stamps, etc. Now that's 99% complete & mint from after the Jubilees to 1987 (my current cut off). Also a lot of time cataloguing and sorting into multiple IPSA volumes the classic WW collection, adding in holes from loose/lot purchases. Organizing the blues alphabetically was a chore, especially with the way Scott starts multiple countries on one page!
Haven't done too much with the Germany stuff, although plan is to move it into some Scott Specialty albums from the world. The US really haven't looked at yet. For World classic, considering moving into Palo over time as budget permits.
Biggest problem - trying to narrow my focus at times! Between the Canada & WW classic, collecting the world up to 1959 is a little ambitious. But loads of fun so far, and learning a lot!
