I noticed that Scott listed a 2018 catalogue (C-F) for $89.99 with free shipping. I offered $50 and it was declined. I really was not expecting them to accept. They did not counter offer.

Hi Angore,

Keep looking! I just purchased one volume in two parts (pre-2018 they were combined in one larger volume) 2018 Scott catalogue with shipping just under $56 so I am eagerly awaiting them.

Note the seller is a retailer of stamp and coin supplies so obviously is clearing out NEW catalogues for a great price....

There's a BIN for $43.50 plus $13.50 shipping from thestampcenter if you are interested. I just picked up a full set of 2011 for $76.

I don't understand the posting. Are you surprised a catalogue is listed for sale on ebay by Scott (now known as Amos Media)? Or are you surprised they didn't accept your offer? That they didn't counter your offer? Or are you just trying to let us know you want to find a catalogue? You've described a series of facts, but I don't see a question.

It was an observation on how they sell catalogues. Given they did not counter offer, I assume they were not serious about selling it less than what they listed it at. Of course, they may not have thought I was serious too but they could have at least countered with something.

On ebay there is a setting that a seller can use to have the ebay system automatically reject offers below a certain percentage of the asking price. Perhaps that's what going on here. I know some sellers who do that, and I know others who make sure they see each offer and make a counter-offer.
