I found a very old stamp modern postage stamp album with a gift date of 1941 in an old trunk. This apparently has been there for a long time...30+ years it's guessed. Lots of stamps but this one threw me. Is it a stamp?
There are many fake and forgeries of these Pony Express stamps. This is one of them - note the crude printing. It appears to be "Forgery K" from Larry Lyons' "The Identifier for Carriers, Locals, Fakes, Forgeries and Bogus Local Posts of the United States". That does not make it worthless and uncollectible, but the value is greatly reduced. Don't quit your day job!
