Hello people,
I have a Bavarian stamp SG 40 as listed in the SG German catalogue 2014, but not showing a value for it. I have looked through the catalogue for any info on unpriced stamps, could not find any.

What's the reason for this?

Regards,
Lee.

Lee, if you read the notes in the front of the catalogue (page xii, under section 'Q' in my 2014 catalogue) it says the following:

Where no prices are listed it is either because the stamps are not know to exit (usually shown by a symbol) in that condition or, more usually, because there is no reliable information on which to Base their value.

Have you checked Michel? They will show much more detail than SG on stamps of German States.

I notice in SG that there's also a 6k deep bistre with the same lack of value. Can you show us a scan of your 6k stamp against the blue of a colour chart? That would be really helpful.

In the Dutch Nvph Catalogue they made an error about 2 years back.

A stamp listed with a value of 17.000,- was listed as 170.000,- the next year. since then they only put "-.-" as the value.

I don't know of this helps. but still, nice to know.
