The first one is actually a Cinderella, probably commemorating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Grey Nuns by Mere d'Youville in Montreal.

The second one is a postal stationary item from a pre-stamped envelope.

From Unitrade 2005 Canada catalogue
the King George V 1924-1931 2c Green unembossed is either
cut from a special order envelope #UQ14 or
cut from an election envelope #UE2

The catalog prices them as if you had the entire envelope.
Also known as 'cut squares' from different countries (Canada, USA, Great Britain). But people thought they were so nice (most were embossed) that they cut them out following the lines of the design, rather than in a square (so you could better tell the paper type and colour I assume(?)).

Who would want to save the entire envelope? Not eye appealing at all to a new stamp collector (or to most). I have always liked the embossed stamps and now covers. But I needed to be educated a bit so as to enjoy the covers.

Wow, thanks for the history Puzzler!

It would make sense it was cut or ripped off somehow. My grandfather started the collection, so most likely it was the early 1930's. As to how it got ripped/cut...not sure. All in the box.
