Quote: Yes, but the rest of 1989 Indian stamps of course were overshadowed by the beautiful 1888 Travancore 2 chuckram conch shell. This? I think your impish sense of humour is running away with you Rodney |

Quote: I thinkt here were 6 of them in one sheet. This is good news, please make the search for these as a top priority, I shall bid robustly for these, be aware Tony may bid too, under a nom de plume, I believe he is a closet Travancore collector |

GBP 60p ea 2005 SG. probably best to include in one of your future bid lots, that way all parties interests are met.

Siegel Auctions had a remarkable collection of Worldwide Pigeon Post up for auction some years ago (2002). Before the sale, the collection was removed from the market and (I believe) sold privately. There was a catalog for it published and, if you know where to look, you can access it online still. http://www.siegelauctions.com/2002/854/y854.htmChip |

Just to point out that the 1st Air Mail Stamp was used & used on June 6, 1877 by John F.B. Lillard known as the Buffalo Balloon. It is listed as a Air Post Semi-Official. Mail was flown via balloon Nashville to Gallatin, TN. The Balloon was owned & flown by pilot Samuel Archer King. It was reported that a J.H. Snively (Mr./Ms. unknown) printed in strips of a single die. There were 300 printed & 23 were used. |
