I realize a long shot but picked up a collection at a garage sale. Nothing that unusual - usual common stamps from 1847 to 1982.

These were in the spots in the album reserved for 594 and 595.

Any chance these may be real or 552 and 554 perf 11?

No, neither stamps shown are perf 11 x 11. They are 11 x 10.5 perf.

Where do I need to live to find stamps at a garage sale? I don't see much for stamps here in Minnesota, esp at garage sales.

Raymodj, I've found one decent collection here (Minnesota) in 10 years of looking. Everything I see is the same common packet material so I've almost given up looking.
