Knowledgeable community,

I've searched this forum and the web in general for information on the item pictured below. Can anyone help me find more info on this item including your best guess on what stamp is contained? When I receive the item I can provide more metrics.

It's almost certainly a 344 with Schermack perforations.

It appears to be either scott 344 (double line watermark) issued Dec 1908 or scott 384 (single line watermark) issued Dec 1910 with Shermack Type III private perfs. I suspect it is the first one since the later one was issued very late in 1910.

Something tells me that this is not what pascoe is asking!
Pascoe, have you tried or considered asking the APS?

Peter

I think Peter has the right idea. Someone at APS or APRL would know if there is a databank/compendium of APS Convention memorabilia. Or, among the staff/officers of APS there might well be a collector of such material, or know where you might find such a person.

Which cat number was certainly one of the questions asked.

Yes, looking for guesses on catalogue number (understanding certain specs must be obtained directly from stamp first) AND info specific to this kind of item (a "postal pin"). I'll certainly reach out to APS, great suggestion.
