Interesting article in the NYT on its history and a bit about the Philatelic Foundation. This particular stamp apparently had not been accounted for in years and was squirreled away in a family safety deposit box. |

Is there another stamp as over-hyped and overpriced as this? I suppose the Chinese monkey stamp springs to mind, but it's consdierably cheaper if less attractive. |
